Introducing Amarni
A little update on our girl, Armani. This girl is pure sunshine... resilient, positive and empowered. A country kid through and through.
But it has not always been the case, at 5 years old she endured third degree burns to her body, limbs and face... the remaining healthy skin on one leg and her head used to generate skins graphs.
On a recent visit to her home town of Gulargambone, near Coonamable, she generously told us about the painful medical treatments required and ongoing, the years of nightmares recounting the incident and the fear, stress and love her family experienced and share during her treatment.
Whilst the journey is not over, and Armani continues to fly with Little Wings and receive treatment at Westmead Children's Hospital, today she is proudly pain-free and all smiles. Grateful for all that she has survived and leading a life of joy on the farm with her family.
When we asked her about her recovery, she said that the repair of her ear has been a big milestone; lost in the fire, her great medical team have rebuilt her ear and she has great hopes of one day getting her ears pierced.
In sharing these moments with Armani, our heart is so full as we see childhood memories created and traumas slowly overcome.
