Run The Runway event raises much needed funds for Little Wings to help support seriously ill children and their families from regional NSW by providing a free, safe and professional flight and ground transport service to the Children’s Hospitals in the city.
Run The Runway is a unique opportunity to run down one of Bankstown Airport’s operational runways choosing to participate in either a 2.5 kilometre or 5 kilometre run.
We’re inviting participation from runners of all abilities. With limited tickets available, register now to avoid missing out!

When will the run take place?
Run The Runway will be held on Sunday, 17 March 2019 at 7.30am. Runners will be required to register in the Terminal Building at Bankstown Airport between 6.30am and 7:15am. The run must start promptly at 7:30am, as the runway must be cleared at 9am.
Where will the run take place?
Run The Runway will take place on one of Bankstown Airport’s operational runways. Runners will need to arrive at the Terminal Building located at Airport Avenue for registration prior to the event.
Can anyone participate in Run The Runway?
The run is open to all ages, however people under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a participating adult.
How much does it cost to enter the Runway Run?

Entries close on 16 March 2019, however with only 200 spots available, register now to avoid missing out.
How do I get to Run The Runway?
Runners will need to arrive at the Terminal Building at Bankstown Airport between 6:30am-7:15am on the day of the race. The Terminal Building is at the end of Airport Avenue. Further information regarding parking and a map will be provided to all registered participants by email closer to the day.
Is parking covered in the entry cost?
Yes there is free parking in a number of carparks on Bankstown Airport within easy walking distance of the Terminal Building. Further information regarding parking and a map will be provided to all registered participants closer to the day.
Where should I go when I arrive?
There will be a registration desk upon arrival at the Terminal Building at Bankstown Airport. All participants must register before the race. At the registration area you will have your name marked off and be given your Little Wings shirt ready to wear for the race. All child participants will need to be with their accompanying participating adult to register.
Can my family and friends come and watch the race?
Family and friends are more than welcome to attend the run and support participants from inside the Terminal area and the viewing area. Please note that no spectators will be permitted to be airside.
Where can I leave my belongings when I am racing?
Please bring as little as possible with you to the event. No personal items will be permitted on to the runway. There will be a cloak room for storage of personal belongings. We recommend any valuable items such as phones and wallets be left with friends and family. You are welcome to bring your mobile phone with you to the runway however please be advised that your phone is your responsibility.
Will water be provided?
Water will be provided at the Terminal Building. You may take a water bottle onto the runway, however, this bottle must stay with you at all times.
Are strollers and wheelchairs permitted on the runway?
Yes, as long as all objects are removed. A water bottle is permitted as long as it remains with the participant at all times.
What information do I need to bring along on the day?
Please bring a print out of your event ticket and a piece of photo ID. All participants and spectators will have bags security checked on arrival.
What items do I need to bring along on the day?
Please wear comfortable clothes including your running shoes and make sure you have applied sunscreen.
I no longer want to take part in the Runway Run, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, there are no refunds for this event. With all proceeds from the Run The Runway going to the Little Wings charity. Your support will be greatly appreciated even if you can no longer attend the event.
